Dear Rose-Dore,
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month. The Rose-Dore Salon is assembling a team to participate in the American Cancer Society's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk. It is a 5k/3.2 mile walk at White River State Park on Saturday, October 17th. The celebration kick-off begins at 9 a.m.
As an industry, we have all been touched by this disease. Whether it be a sister, mother, aunt, client, friend or co-worker, we have all fought breast cancer in some way. Rose lost her mother Claudia and Stephanie lost her beautiful sister Sofie. Others have been fortunate enough to survive this cruel disease.
Please join the Rose-Dore in our efforts to help find a cure for breast cancer by being a member of our walking team or by making a valuable donation.
We look forward to all the help our wonderful clients and friends can give to our endeavors to raise funds for the American Cancer Society. Signing up and making a donation can be done during your next visit to the Rose-Dore. If you have questions about our team, feel free to contact Nan Johnson at the salon.

In Remembrance
Last year we featured a story in this e-newsletter about a dear friend and client of Doreen's, Suellen Terry. Unfortunately Suellen has lost her fight with lung cancer. Doreen says sharing her life with Suellen for 32 years was an honor.

Indianapolis Women's Chorus to Perform "WomanSong"
The Indianapolis Women's Chorus, of which Doreen is a member, will perform "WomanSong" on Saturday, October 10th, at 6 p.m. at Unity Church of Indianapolis. This all-ages event will be filled with laughter, audience participation and great singing. Tickets are available from Doreen for $10 each.
The Indianapolis Men's Chorus will present "Spooftacular" on Saturday, October 17th at 3 p.m. at The Athenaeum. Tickets are available on line.

Salon Birthday Celebration
We celebrated Matt's and Mickey's birthdays last month. The usual feast was enjoyed, topped off with Nan's homemade German Chocolate cake - Matt's favorite. What about Mickey's favorite?---She will get her turn next year.
