The Sweet Smell of Success by Scott Stevens
I would like to thank all of the new participants in my lifestyle management program for giving SLIM (Stevens Lifestyle & Image Management) the opportunity to coach you toward success. I would like to share two success stories. Marybeth Reynolds, a claims adjuster from Indianapolis, has successfully lost nearly 20 pounds in nine weeks. She has learned how to eat and control the portion size of the foods she enjoys. She does resistance training twice a week and has recently purchased a new bicycle. She has so much more energy and loves the compliments people are giving her. She is halfway to her goal. Keep up the good work Betsy.
Second is Gary Cassity, a hairstylist in Zionsville, who has shed 30 pounds over a four month period. He is on the SLIM eating program and enjoys resistance training twice a week. Gary also tries to do cardiovascular/aerobic training five times a week. Gary feels great and has another twenty pounds to go.

Receptionist Lora Willard to Wed
On Thursday, May 19, 2009, our receptionist, Lora Willard, and Ross Steele will be taking the plunge into wedded bliss. Lucky for them, the plunge will be into the crystal clear, blue waters of Turks & Caicos. They have chosen to do a destination wedding with just a few family members. After returning (Lora says that may or may not actually happen) they will have a reception in Avon with close friends and family. To read more about the bride and groom, visit their web site here.

America's Beauty Show
Rose-Dore team members Rose, Doreen, Stephanie, Mickey, Duane and Tonya traveled to Chicago in March for America's Beauty Show, which used to be called the Chicago Midwest Hair Show. This annual event was held at McCormick Place Exposition Center where the team instantly got into the thumping music and dancing lights of stage after stage filled with platform artists showing all the latest trends and techniques. New and exciting styling methods for soft waves and curls were introduced, along with teasing (yes it's back) for cutting and styling. New styles were created with a multitude of hair cutting techniques. "Fringey" soft edges, overlays with disconnected sections, strong straight bangs, crew cuts, flat tops, asymmetric shags, feathering and variations of the classic bob.
From new "Rockin" layering, which creates soft undetectable layers that sway and swing effortlessly to the "Seven Minute Bob" that is cut using two combs or brushes and creates a perfect bob, regardless or length or layers, lots of exciting techniques were shown.
Color was blocked, bold and very dimensional with a pop of party color made with hidden panels for accents. Highlights, low lights and all over color was shown as well as color glossing to seal in the color and produce a fabulous shine.
A fabulous make-up artist taught a Circ du Soleil type of high fashions tips to complete the look. All this plus nails, skin care seminars and booth after booth of products.
It wasn't all work and no play. The team met up at Shaw's Crab House for dinner and then set off in search of live music to dance the night away.
