Dear Rose-Dore,
The first day of Spring is March 20th. Daffodils and tulips can't be far behind!
Just before the first day of Spring everyone who is Irish, and everyone who is not, will celebrate St. Patrick's Day. Wear a little green on March 17th. Everyone can be Irish once a year!
Happy Spring!

Rose was recently blessed with a new family member. Grandson Major Carter Miller joined mom, Brandi, and dad, Hunter Miller, on January 20, 2010 at 3:37 a.m. He weighed in at 7 pounds 5 ounces and was 20 1/2 inches long. Mom and Dad are overjoyed and under slept. A special thank you to co-worker Steph for all her prayers for a healthy delivery. |

'Tis the Season!
'Tis the season to lose weight. With Spring Break just around the corner, more people will attempt weight-loss than any other time of year. Most people will turn to approaches that are likely to fail. What weight-loss strategies work? The secret is a sensible (not to say easy) three-pronged approach involving healthful eating habits, exercise, and behavior change. Such an approach takes tremendous dedication. Even the most effective weight-loss programs reveal a grim pattern: Many people complete the program, lose about 10 percent of their body weight, regain two-thirds of it within a year, and regain almost all of it within 5 years. The profile of successful dieters:
1. They know their weight and check it weekly. 2. They are motivated from within. 3. They know what they eat and keep record. 4. They engage in regular exercise. 60 to 90 minutes of regular exercise on most days. 5. They have social support (relationships/groups). 6. They control their intake of alcohol, fat, and sugar. 7. They follow a personalized diet plan-one that they can enjoy permanently. 8. They lose no more than a pound or two a week. 9. They set reasonable goals-such as losing 10 percent of their weight as a start. 10. They accept an occasional lapse rather than aim for perfection. 11. They view weight management as a lifestyle change and a long-term commitment. 'Tis never too late to make lifestyle changes that will promote a healthier and happier you. Have a wonderful and safe Spring Break! For more info, check out my Web site for SLIM www.slim4unow.com.
