Dear Rose-Dore,

   Rose and Doreen

Yes, it will stop snowing and it will get warm. The first day of spring is March 20th. Soon many of you will be leaving for those spring break trips. So, just hang in there!

Happy Valentine's Day

Great Lips

Lips

This is the month of romance so you want great lips. Check out our Aveda Lip Saver. Nourish your lips with a smoothing, moisturizing, botanical balm. Plus, Lip Saver contains an SPF-15 sunscreen to protect your lips from UV exposure. Remember you are exposed to UV even in the winter time, especially because of the reflection off the snow. Use it under your lip color or alone. For great lips, pick up a couple of Lip Savers next time you are in the salon.

Thank You for Helping Us Fight Hunger!

Thanks to everyone who donated to our collection for Gleaner's Food Bank. We were very happy to do our part to help feed the families served by Gleaner's.

2011 Spring Hot Hair Styles

Seen on the fashion runways and at awards shows are five hot new hair trends. The low bun is being worn by starlets all over the world. It is looser than in the past but clearly structured. We are seeing hard, severe side parts in both long and short hair on men and women. The blunt cut bang is back - think Cher in the 70s. Swooped bangs are also prevalent in both long and short hair. Punky short cuts are popular again, perhaps because it is such a fresh and fun spring look. Now is a good time to update your style. It won't be long before many of you are off on those spring break trips or winter ski vacations. Ask your stylist if one of the hot styles for spring is right for you. Go for it!

Nan & Friends Join Area Walks

Stylist Nan Johnson and her friends and family participated in several charity walks in the past year. The Buddy Walk in Bloomington was to raise funds for Downs Syndrome. Nan's team was called Maddie's Mad Hatter. Topaz the Witch poodle was a huge hit with high fives and hugs for all who wanted them. Pictured with Nan and Topaz are Nan's nieces Charity and Holly Johnson.

Below is a photo from the Bark 4 Life dog walk for the American Cancer Society. Topaz was a Donation Diva in purple and white. The second photo was taken when The Humane Society of Boone County was collecting donations and walking in the 4th of July parade. Topaz was wearing her flag hair bow with a patriotic donation jacket.
